The Buyer III will place order, and stays involved in inventory distribution. Reviews success of previous orders to determine extent to which inventory should be replenished.
Researches new trends or advances in product lines to make appropriate buying decisions.
Functions as a decision maker with orders of a larger and more complex scope.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or Manager.
Responsible for purchasing assigned components, materials and supplies from approved suppliers. Manage day-to-day supplier activities.
Purchases and plans timely deliveries of assigned items, supplies, and materials; expedites as needed and acts as liaison between suppliers and end-users, obtaining appropriate approvals for purchases in excess of established limit.
Ensures timely payment of invoices for assigned components/materials through invoice reconciliation.
For assigned items, coordinates with suppliers to resolve material nonconformance issues, invoice/quantity discrepancies and short term corrective actions.
Generates and publishes key performance indicators (“scorecard”) by downloading and formatting data from ERP systems.
Develops, maintains, and analyzes inventory projections for raw material, work in process, and finished goods
Creates feasible production schedules, considers constraints, e.g. line capacity, labor, run rates, bottlenecks, planned downtime.
Understands difference between re-order point and fixed cycle scheduling, and when to apply the relevant strategy.
Recommends purchase decisions based on target inventory levels, order fill rates and demand variables.
Monitor receipts and transfers of inventory ensuring timely delivery and availability of product as well as in accordance with supply plan.
Develop unconstrained capacity projections by working closely with Demand Planning.
Collaborate with Product Development on NPI and ramp up schedule planning

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to read and understand materials and specifications preferred.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in using MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
Analytical skills including data evaluation, identification, solution development and implementation.
Self-motivated and goal oriented, with a positive proactive attitude and a high degree of initiative.
Ability to effectively analyze data, identify issues and generate solutions.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience.
