Production Artist

mophie is an industry-leading Apple Accessory and Application designer and manufacturer with locations in California, Utah, Michigan, Ireland, and China. The company is growing very fast and offers a fun and dynamic working environment. We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and experienced Production Artist to join our Creative Team. As a member of the team, the Production Artist will work in close collaboration with the Product Development, Creative, and Marketing depts. on various packaging and creative projects for our current and next generation products.



Create and implement packaging and creative designs from initial concepts, through design completion, and into manufacturing.

Collaborate with and utilize input from Operations, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Senior Management to implement effective product support and packaging materials.  
Research regulatory requirements and implement packaging designs to maximize efficiency and compliance with all international and domestic shipping requirements. 
Develop complex dielines and packaging structure drawings.
Coordinate and implement multi-language translations into packaging and other creative materials.
Finalize all packaging artwork, electronic files and prepare for production.
Manipulate and track artwork layouts to conform to existing and newly developed die-lines, copy, and/or company strategies.
Develop product renderings and detailed design specifications for internal review and execution by Product Development and Suppliers.
Create mock-ups, prototypes and design renderings for presentation to customers.

Revise and update information on various packaging deliverables and track changes.
Attend Press Checks to verify accurate production, color matching and ability to identify CMYK color shifts as well as provide appropriate corrective action.
Work with and travel to suppliers and manufacturers to troubleshoot when issues arise and ensure deadlines are hit and product meets mophie’s quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.



Experience designing and developing packaging for consumer electronics products.
Experience with the printing & prepress process including various press types.
Experience with a wide range of printing techniques, construction techniques, and materials used for packaging.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Excellent sketching, 2D, and 3D visualization skills.
Proficiency with Adobe Create Suite, MS Office, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of 3D software like Solidworks or similar is a plus
Working knowledge of packaging software like ArtiosCAD or similar is a plus.
Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Effective at multitasking and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
Detail oriented with understanding of consistency towards brand guidelines.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Effective in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet deadlines.
Understanding of CMYK color space, as well as UV GLOSS/FOIL/Pantone Color setup.
Comfortable using Exacto knifes and other sharp tools for mock ups.
Ability to work hands-on.
Thrives on new challenges.



Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Graphic Design or equivalent or 3 years related experience.
Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Familiar working with large format printers, replacing ink, cleaning cycles, and ordering supplies. Versaworks & Fiery XF Client software knowledge as well ability to independently load media rolls up to 50 lbs.
Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with development
partners, contract manufacturers, customers, or trade shows.
