Sr. Sustaining electrical hardware Engineer

The Sustaining Engineer role will have the responsibility of ongoing technical and engineering support following the release of our products. This role provides technical and engineering support by recommending and implementing process or design modifications to improve production efficiencies. This role will work with multiple stakeholders to drive cost down opportunities through design changes. This role is responsible for design ownership of released products. The design owner uses design control and risk management process along with engineering first principals associated with the design change process to ensure that proposed changes to launched product are systematically and thoroughly analyzed. Additional responsibilities include proposing changes or enhancements to improve overall product design and performance.
Perform technical evaluations and suitability for market use of vendor samples.
Perform verification and testing, quality assessment of vendor samples.
Advise and lead design improvements, changes if necessary to bring non-conforming or marginal products into acceptability standards for sale by either brand. ZAGG/mophie.
Test of company-developed products
Build and maintain technical documentation to support product enhancements
Evaluate materials, design and time to market solutions while preserving product integrity
Researches, plans, evaluates, and performs root cause analysis to support recommendations for or against changes that assure design and performance intent are preserved
Identify areas in the market to suggest potential changes to fill future product orders
Experience with Mechanical engineering, a plus, though heavy focus is on electrical.
Works collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across the organization to build and assess product requirement specifications
Take current product and process and make it better
Takes product through a cost analysis and recommends cost down opportunities.
Work closely with internal departments and external vendors to evaluate process to drive efficiency and cost down conversations
Must be fluent in English, Mandarin a plus.
Must be able to read and modify schematics.
Must be able to create test reports with data and evidence of performance gaps.
Must work collaboratively and creatively to resolve technical issues.
Must have 8+ years direct experience in cost down, supplier sample remediation to spec experience, or 8 years EE hardware experience.
Some limited firmware knowledge a plus.
Hands on self-starter with good communication skills.
Experience in measurement and technical evaluation, root cause analysis, and hardware optimization.
