#mophieRescue at SXSW
How we spent the first weekend of SXSW with a pack of St. Bernards, saving the crowds in Austin, TX from dying phone batteries.
Starting on Friday, March 13th, we spent the first weekend of SXSW saving the crowds in Austin, TX from dying phone batteries. With the help of the St. Bernard Rescue Foundation, the #mophieRescue crew set up shop on the corner of 5th St. and Trinity and saved over 600 people from dying phone batteries with the help of over 15 Saints.
What did the helpless masses need to do? Just tweet @mophie with their location, screenshot of their dying battery and #mophieRescue. We selected people at random and sent the St. Bernards and handlers along with powerstation reserve to boost the dying batteries.

Since phones aren’t the only things that tend to run low on juice, we set up a Swiss-themed Rescue Lodge for people to come, grab a free beverage (or two) and listen to some tunes. The line to get in wrapped around the block, but that line had nothing on the one to pet the puppies.
Speaking of puppies… equipped with GoPros attached to special vests, we even brought the Saint Bernard pups out on the rescue…
One of many successful saves…
Not ones to leave our friends hanging, once we heard there was some phones in need of a charge at the Fast Company Grill, we ambushed them with all of the St. Bernards and hundreds of products.
At the end of the day, we saved a lot of dying batteries. More importantly – we helped raise awareness about animal rescue and hopefully saved a lot more of our fuzzy friends’ lives.
